W VA motorcycle accident victim suffers critical injuries

Motorcycle accident victims can suffer serious and life-altering injuries in a motorcycle accident.

In a neighboring West Virginia town, a motorcyclist had to be taken to the hospital following a crash with an SUV. The motorcycle accident caused the motorcycle rider to be thrown from his motorcycle. The motorcycle collided with the front of the SUV which caused the motorcyclist to be thrown 20 yards and later be taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The investigation into the cause of the motorcycle collision continues.

Motorcycle accidents can result in catastrophic injuries sometimes not seen in regular car accidents because of the obvious nature of a motorcycle which provides the driver less exterior protection than a car. Motorcycle accident victims can often suffer brain or head injuries, as well as neck or spinal cord injuries.

Because of this, motorcycle accident victims may require not only past medical care but continuing and future care. This may result in the necessity for a victim to pursue the liability of a negligent driver if a negligent party is responsible for the injuries suffered. This will allow the motorcycle accident victim to recover damages, including medical expenses such as those for physical or cognitive therapy, disfigurement or permanent disability. Victims may also be able to recover pain and suffering damages, lost wages and lost future earning capacity.

A motorcycle accident and the injuries that can result may dramatically impact a motorcycle accident victim's life. Because of this, a motorcycle accident victim may be in a position that requires them to seek compensation from the liable party for out-of-pocket expenses and other damages.
