Cabell County area semi-truck accident causes injuries

A semi-truck recently turned over in the Cabell County area, sending two people to the hospital. A semi-truck carrying a crane was involved in the accident with another vehicle. It occurred in the eastbound lanes near a rest stop. The two people taken to the hospital sustained non-life threatening injuries. Traffic had to be diverted while police and rescue crews worked on the accident.

Truck accidents can be caused by a variety of reasons, including poor training related to driving techniques and defensive driving skills. Additionally, truck drivers can sometimes be subject to pressures that cause drivers to exceed safe speeds or reasonable numbers of consecutive driving hours advisable to ensure safety. An 18-wheeler accident can sometimes occur without notice and leave victims with injuries and expenses.

When a truck accident victim has been injured in a semi-truck accident, sometimes the truck driver may be liable to the victim, however, in certain cases, the truck company may also be responsible to compensate the injured victim. This will depend on the nature of the relationship between the truck driver and the truck company. In any event, when a truck accident victim has been injured by the negligence of a truck driver, including an unqualified truck driver or as a result of truck driver fatigue or speeding, options are available to recover damages for medical expenses and lost wages.

Truck accidents can create a particularly significant disruption in the life of Huntington victims. A trained legal professional, with knowledge of these types of accidents, can help victims recover costs associated with their damages.
