West Virginia truck accident sends two to hospital

Because truck accidents can involve serious harm and injuries to victims, legal remedies may be available.

Coal trucks are a prominent feature of the West Virginia landscape. A recent accident in a nearby West Virginia community, involving a coal truck and two other vehicles, sent two people to the hospital with injuries. The coal truck was reported to have struck a passenger vehicle and one person was trapped in the car. Two people were taken to the hospital following the collision with the coal truck for treatment of injuries.

Truck accidents can be especially dangerous because of the obvious size disparity trucks present on the roadways when compared with passenger vehicles. Because of this, serious injuries can result from truck accident. Those injured may face recovery challenges related to physical injuries suffered but may also face emotional and financial challenges as a result of the truck accident. It may be possible for injured victims to recover damages for the various kinds of harm suffered.

Truck drivers may be negligently responsible for a truck accident in different ways. Those injured by an inattentive truck driver, an unqualified truck driver, a drunk truck driver, a truck driver who is speeding or suffering from truck driver fatigue may be able to bring a claim for damages against the truck driver and possibly any trucking company. There are other ways, in addition to those previously mentioned, that a truck driver may be considered negligent and cause an accident that results in harm to the victim.

Because there are a variety of considerations involved in bringing a personal injury claim in the case of a truck accident, a trained personal injury attorney may be able to help. An attorney can listen to the victim and help the victim evaluate both the damages suffered and circumstances of the case.
