Fatal ATV versus car accident results in death of woman

Victims of ATV accidents in West Virginia should understand the legal remedies and recourse available to protect victims.

An ATV versus car accident in a southern state recently claimed the life of a woman. According to authorities, a car collided with an ATV the 48-year old woman was riding. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Police reported that the accident was under investigation.

Recreational vehicle accidents can result in devastating injuries and death. As ATVs have increased in popularity recently, as both practical and recreational vehicles, there have been a number of ATV accidents to accompany the rise in popularity. Non-fatal ATV accidents can result in traumatic brain injuries and head injuries which can be costly and time-consuming to treat. Because of this, victims injured in an ATV accident when another party is at fault may be able to recover damages for the harm suffered.

Likewise, family members of victims killed in an ATV accident may be able to recover damages through a wrongful death claim against the party responsible for the accident. Surviving family members can recover damages based on the unique characteristics of the victim and the circumstances of the accident. In addition, damages are normally available for medical and funeral expenses as well as pain and suffering damages and loss of support and services.

Victims, and families of victims, may be left with many challenges, including financial challenges, following an ATV accident. A trained personal injury attorney can help victims evaluate the damages suffered and seek recovery for the same.
