Child run over by ATV in ATV accident flown to hospital

Facing the unexpected challenges following a serious accident may seem overwhelming but the legal process offers options to help.

A few hours west of Cabell, a child recently had to be flown the hospital following an ATV accident. According the authorities, around 4:30 pm in the late afternoon, the child was run over by an ATV. Someone drove the child to a local store so that the child could be transported to the hospital via helicopter.

ATV accidents can result in extensive injuries, including head injury, spinal injury, brain injury and more. These injuries can be difficult and costly to treat. Because of that, when an individual or loved one has been injured in a recreational vehicle accident because of the carelessness or negligence of another party, a claim for damages may be appropriate.

The after effects of an ATV accident can be life-changing and catastrophic. Injuries such as traumatic brain injury can require on-going rehabilitation which can include physical therapy and emotional and cognitive challenges. These challenges can sometimes lead to permanent disability and harm. Depending on the type of accident and victim, individuals may be able to receive compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, lost-earning capacity and more.

When an unexpected accident, such as a recreational vehicle accident, has caused a victim to suffer unexpected, and extensive, harm, a claim for damages against the responsible party may help victims avoid shouldering the complete burden of the accident alone. In this way, the legal system offers resources to protect victims when harmed in an accident.
