A truck that smashed into a house sent three people to the Cabell Huntington Hospital recently. All three victims of the car accident were life-flighted to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries after the pickup truck crashed into the house. At the time of the accident, the owner of the home and two other people were in the living room when the driver of the pickup truck lost control of the vehicle and exited the road into the home. The pickup impacted two the victims and caused the front portion of the home to collapse. The event data recorder was retrieved from the pickup truck for analysis. The driver was also injured in the accident but was taken to a different hospital from the three victims. The accident investigation is continuing.

Car accidents can present a significant disruption to a car accident victim's life. They can result in serious physical injuries, as well as property damage. This can, in turn, lead to many types of damages, including medical expenses and other damages, such as for property that has been destroyed. In order to receive appropriate compensation for the damages a victim has suffered, it may be necessary to establish the liability of a negligent driver for the harm.

Many factors will be considered to determine if a driver was negligent. This evaluation and analysis will depend on the nature of the case and the facts of the incident. Some factors that might be considered include if the driver disobeyed traffic signs or signals; failed to appropriately signal when required; was not in accordance with posted speed limit signs; was not driving appropriately for the weather or traffic conditions; or was driving under the influence of drugs or was a drunk driver.

Car accidents may result in serious injuries and leave victims with a variety of different types of damages. The legal system is prepared to help victims with all different types of harm that may have been suffered.
