Cabell County head-on collision injures councilman

Car accidents can be painful both physically and emotionally and can result in serious injury. These injuries are further exacerbated as medical bills and other expenses mount.

A Cabell County area head-on collision resulted in two people being taken to the hospital. One of them was a local Huntington city councilman. At the time of the crash, a van was travelling west in the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with the truck driven by the city councilman. The city councilman reported that he had lacerations and bruises throughout his body. It was not immediately known why the van was traveling the wrong way.

For anyone injured in a car accident, physical and emotional recovery can be a difficult process. When this recovery results in expensive medical bills and lost wages, the recovery process can be extremely daunting. In recognition of this, the legal system helps protect victims that have been harmed in a car accident. Car accidents victims can bring a personal injury claim to recover damages against the negligent driver that harmed them. Damages the victim may recover include medical expenses, future medical expenses, lost wages, lost earning capacity and pain and suffering. Other damages may be available as well.

It is important that the victim of a car accident record details of the injuries they have suffered, as well as details of the accident, both immediately after the accident and on a continuing basis. This will provide a solid foundation for a legal claim later on. The victim should record details of injuries but also how the injuries are impacting the victim emotionally as well. The victim should also record detailed notes of financial losses that have arisen as a result of the accident. A record of injuries and financial losses the victim has suffered may save the victim money down the road by allowing the victim to recover compensation for them.

It is important for victims of car collisions to understand that the legal system is designed to help them. Victims can recover compensation from the responsible party for damages and costs to them as a result of the accident.
